Intensive

The Vancouver Global Dance Project Summer Intensive program for both youth and pre-professionals will provide dancers with the training and support needed to succeed in today's contemporary dance world. Participants of both programs will receive up to three weeks of master classes and workshops in improvisation, choreography and dance history. They will also be given training in contemporary technique, jazz, modern, ballet, tap, hip-hop and bollywood. In addition to the intensive coaching sessions, dancers will experience a professional choreographer's full creative process, learn original choreographed pieces and perform at the VGDP Performance Series.

Choreographic Festival

The Vancouver Global Dance Project (VGDP) is passionate about nurturing Vancouver's creative dance talent and aims to provide the next generation of choreographers with the tools they need to successfully produce and showcase original work. The VGDP Choreographic Festival is a unique opportunity for dancers who wish to take their ideas from initial conception and develop them into an original piece of choreography for a live audience. Aspiring choreographers are invited to submit evidence of creative work to the VGDP Faculty, who will assess submissions based on clarity of idea, performance standard, its relevance to contemporary dance, awareness of form, and a sense of adventure, play and experimentation. The Vancouver Global Dance Project Summer Intensive program for both youth and pre-professionals will provide dancers with the training and support needed to succeed in today's contemporary dance world. Performance Series

The Vancouver Global Dance Project's mission is to cultivate young talent and inspire the next generation of dancers and choreographers. We believe that in Vancouver there are currently not enough opportunities for young dancers and dance companies to develop work for performance and we want to change this! Through the VGDP Performance Series we will present the work of accomplished dancers, creative choreographers and inspiring youth-based dance companies and in-turn establish new audiences for youth-based contemporary dance.
